Making an appointment: 01896 661440
All consultations are by appointment. Urgent appointments are usually available for the same day as requested. If you feel that it is vital to be seen on that day and there are no available appointments, you will be given an urgent (5 minute) appointment with whichever doctor is available.
Out of hours: 08454 242424
When the surgery is closed (see ‘Surgery hours’ above) you should telephone the NHS 24 helpline on 08454 24 24 24 who will give appropriate advice or will refer you to Borders Emergency Care Service (BECS), the out of hours service operated by NHS Borders. (BECS replaced BORDOC in November 2004).
Home visits:
If you need the doctor to call because someone is too ill to be brought to the surgery then please telephone before 10.30am. The receptionist may ask you for some details so that the doctor can assess how urgent your problem is and, if necessary, give advice until he/she can visit you.
Repeat prescriptions:
There is no chemist locally so all your prescriptions will be dispensed at the surgery. Requests for repeat prescriptions should be made in the morning after 10am and at least 2 working days in advance.
