Many people in the community are aware of the existence of the Stow Parish Trust. It was set up in 1997 to secure parcels of land within Stow for the benefit of the community. Over the years, the Trust has received an income from the sale of small sections of land. The Trust’s annual outgoings are the running costs of the Old Church flood lighting and the insurance of the Trust’s property and land.
The Trust has and continues to assist many groups and organisations within the community. These include contributions towards the purchase of medical equipment in the Health Centre, Primary School trips, installing floodlighting in the Old Church, the construction and running of Stow Multi Court, the Community Council, Christmas lights and many other groups and projects.
The stated charitable objectives are:
a)The relief of residents of Stow Parish who are suffering from poverty, sickness and distress through the provision of financial assistance.
b)The advancement of education of the inhabitants of Stow Parish.
c) The provision, or assistance in the provision, of facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.
