Although we already have the fenced play park in Stow the equipment is really geared for children up to the age of 5 years. With 75 primary and approx 50 secondary pupils it takes a long time to get a shot on the swings in Stow Park. A new group ‘Stow Community Park’ has been established to look into the possibility of getting funding for engaging age appropriate park equipment. We are not only looking to get play apparatus for kids we are also hoping to get enough funding for outdoor gym equipment for teenagers and adults.
If you would like any further information or would like to help the group please email stowcommunitypark@gmail.com
The Parish of Stow has now got a Facebook page. Go in and have a look.
Good afternoon to you all.
I turn to you for help in finding out who is the owner of lands in the wally around the A7 road close to Fountainhall further north of Stow. I was there some years back looking for the famous Icelandic viking battlefield Vinheidi. Two Icelandic viking brothers in a battle for the king of England in the year 937. I am looking for permission to look for the grave of the one brother killed in the battle and a mass grave of other soldiers that got killed in the battle. There is a good description of this battle in the famous saga; Egilssaga
