Following an unannounced inspection from the Care Inspectorate in December, Fountainhall Primary School Nursery have been awarded 4 excellents and 4 very goods. The inspection focused on the following quality themes; Care and Support, Environment, Staffing and Management and Leadership. In the summary, the inspector stated, “Fountainhall Primary School Nursery is an exciting and stimulating environment for children. Staff have an exceptional commitment to working in partnership with parents and the community. Children benefit from this and from a very enthusiastic and motivated staff team. Children have a great time at this nursery, and learn a lot. Staff are dedicated, caring and innovative. They are very well supported by their managers. Parents and carers are very happy with the quality of service that their children get.”
P1-7 have been studying Castles and the Scottish Wars of Independence. As part of this they had a trip to Stirling Castle which they greatly enjoyed. The children are now sharing their learning by developing their own web pages for Stirling Castle. These will be available on the school website once they are completed.
Last term the children worked on traditional music with Kaela Rowan from YMI. The children learned new songs and developed their musical skills. These were demonstrated at a concert at the end of term. The Nursery are now developing their musical skills this term with a block of ‘Trash Arts’.
We are all looking forward to a very busy term ahead which includes a tennis festival, rugby festivals, Sports Day, our school trip and various Braw Lads events.
